Many of the resources currently provided are based on Dr. John Holland's theory that people and work environments can be loosely classified into six different groups known as RIASEC themes.
Goal: Every grade, every year, every theme code for a well rounded exposure to the World of Work.

World of Work
How can a child aspire to a career they don't know exists?The World of Work is evolving with new careers and opportunities developing locally and globally.
Together we can help all children develop their unique strengths, interests, and work values to ensure that they know they have a place in the world and they are wanted for a dream job.
Below is the WOW Framework.
You will see Level 1 & 2 referenced often. These Levels are referenced on the left navigation tab, on materials within the WOW Resource Kit, and on the WOW Resource Kits Contents - TK - 8 Google Docs. WOW Resource Kits Contents can be found under each grade level tab.
During the 2017-2018 school year we are focusing on Level 1 and Level 2 experiences for all students.
Some students might have opportunities during this academic year to have a Level 3 and/or Level 4 experience as more businesses connect their work to the work in CVUSD.
WOW FRAMEWORK
Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Exploration Simulation Meet-a-Pro Practice Explore physical and digital resources to learn about various jobs and industries, and think about which jobs you might be most interested in exploring. Engage in Work Activities and experiences that will expose you to the skills and values required to
work in various jobs. Think about which jobs you might like.Professionals and experts come to the classroom to speak about their jobs. You go out into the world to meet and shadow professionals working in their environments.
Apply everything you have learned by using the connections you made in Level 3 to practice through play, volunteer, intern, and/or work at the jobs that you are interested in.
Your World of Work Resource Kit will have a variety of Level 1 and Level 2 Resources.
