Internship
-
INTERNSHIPS are options for educators seeking employment in hard or harder to fill positions. Interns work in full time teaching contracts while completing their coursework/teaching credential. Positions in which we typically hire interns may include special education, bilingual classroom teaching positions at our schools implementing dual immersion language programs, and math and/or science. Steps to internship require a prospective educator to research universities that host internships and which programs you may be eligible for/may fit your needs.
CAJON VALLEY PARTNERS OFFERING INTERN CREDENTIALING PROGRAMS:

Please research each institution’s admission requirements, cost, and course pacing to make a decision about the right fit for you. You will reach out to the institution directly for questions regarding their unique programs and your eligibility.
Teacher Residency
-
TEACHER RESIDENCY is an exciting new pathway for those interested in becoming Education Specialists. Each spring we accept applications for Teacher Residency for future special educators who attend San Diego State University and/or Point Loma Nazarene University. The application will be posted on this page, once opened each spring. With Residency you are placed with an exceptional mentor teacher for a full year. While learning in this placement, you will earn a large, grant funded cost of living placement and have additional opportunities to gain experience as a Guest (substitute) Teacher. Residency does require a 4 year commitment to Cajon Valley following your successful completion of the program and hiring, but everyone stays longer because they love their community and our District’s caring, professional, and fun culture.
