April 3 Letter from the Principals

Dear Parent/Guardian:

There are many questions circulating after remarks by Governor Gavin Newsom and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond about if and when California campuses will reopen this school year.

The Cajon Valley Union School District and the San Diego County Office of Education continue to carefully monitor guidance from federal, state, and local public health and education agencies. All decisions about reopening will be made in conjunction with local public health officials. We continue to hold out hope that our school will reopen later this spring, but are making plans to continue teaching and learning in earnest via Distance Learning if that is not the case.

Below are the current county, state, and federal orders and guidelines  in place:

Health Restrictions

Expiration Date

Federal:  Guidelines on Gatherings and Social Distancing

April 30th

State:  Governor’s Statewide “Stay at Home” Order

Until Further Notice

SD County:  Health Restrictions on Gatherings and Social Distancing

Until Further Notice

We’ve enjoyed connecting with our families and students online and are excited about the new educational program and curriculum we are rolling out beginning on 4/20/2020.  Details and guidelines on Cajon Valley’s Distance Learning Program will be sent to you shortly via email and posted on the District Website www.cajonvalley.net

Please feel free to contact your student’s Principal for more information.

Sincerely,

Principals of Cajon Valley Union School District
