Foster Youth Services

Foster Youth Services

Foster Youth Services programs are designed to prepare foster youth to become successful, self-sufficient, and independent adults.

It’s focused on improving the educational outcomes of wards and dependents, ages 4 to 21, residing in licensed children's institutions, foster family agency and county foster homes. A committee representing school districts, community colleges, child welfare services, probation, juvenile court, advocacy agencies, and substitute care providers oversee the development and implementation of the Foster Youth Services Program. These agencies work in close partnership with the program to strengthen and enhance services to students in foster care.
