CVUSD Fine Arts Programs

Elementary Program

Flying Hills Elementary School is the site of our elementary F.A.M.E. Program.

The Fine Arts Magnet Education (F.A.M.E.) Program provides a learning opportunity for 3rd-6th grade students which integrates the study of fine arts including: the performing arts (dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music), as well as the visual arts (drawing, painting, and sculpting).   Students are provided multiple opportunities to participate in community events. Students receive recognition for sharing their talents in the arts with audiences of other schools, local businesses and civic groups. Students also participate in a sequential instrumental music program. Such opportunities encourage student commitment, professionalism and growth in selfconfidence.

Middle School Program

Greenfield Middle School is the site of our middle Arts Pathway Program.

In this pathway, students are involved in trimester productions and art exhibits. All students on the pathway have rotational electives that include: media arts, art, and theater. In addition, students at Greenfield have the opportunity to participate in band and choir.  Content area classes such as math, English, history and science make thematic connections related to trimester performances.   Pathway students are also involved in an off-campus fieldtrips each trimester related to their art focus. Pathway teachers collaborate with experts in the community and with lead staff at the San Diego Office of Education. Students will experience Common Core content standards integrated with Visual and Performing Arts standards.
