    Located in lovely Julian, Camp Marston will host our students for their very own “Outdoor Education Program.” We hope your child will participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience and have a wonderful adventure.

     

    Forms needed:

                     > PINK Health History Form, (both sides if child is under the care of a doctor)

    >If medication is needed please be prepared to bring it to the nurse 1/8/19


    > Deposit to reserve your child’s spot
    (Make check out to Los Coches Creek 6th Grade)

    The cost of camp will be $239. The Sixth Grade Committee has fundraising opportunities if you’d like to participate or you may pay $200 on the first installment date and know that your remaining balance will be $39 dollars or less.

    The Committee will be sending out statements for the total amount in two installments.

    If a parent would like to send a letter(s) to their 6th grade camper, it should be mailed to:

    Welcome to Middle School! You are off on a grand adventure, and we hope you enjoy it, whether it is your first Sixth Grader or you have done it before!

     

    The Annual Sixth Grade trip to Camp Marston is a highlight of every students Sixth Grade year. Camp Marston is a lovely YMCA camp located in Julian, approximately one hour from Los Coches Creek. Camp Marston has hosted the Sixth Grade Outdoor Education Program for many years, and it is always one of the favorite memories of Sixth Grade for years to come. We hope that your child can participate in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure and have a wonderful experience.

     

    This year our Camp Adventure is Tuesday, January 8-Friday, January 11. Monday, January 7 is a district holiday and there is no school that day. There are some new District policy changes in effect this year regarding fundraising. All Fundraisers for Sixth Grade Camp will be for the class as a whole and not individual Students. The more people who participate in fundraising, the more the cost of camp goes down for EVERYONE and includes the cost of camp and transportation to and from Camp Marston! Payment for camp is $239 this year, with the first payment due on October 6, and the final payment due November 9.  If you would like to pay up front, you may pay a deposit of $200 before November 1. Depending on fundraising efforts, the balance due in November will be no more than $39. The more fundraising that is done, the lower EVERYONE’S final balance will be.

     

    We have 2 major fundraisers planned-

    1. Butter Braid Pastries- August beginning at Orientation and due August 31
    2. Mixed Bags Sales- September

    If necessary, there is a possibility of a third Fundraiser, to be determined later.

     

    Please note that while no child will be excluded from camp due to inability to pay, fundraising opportunities are available to help offset the cost. The Sixth Grade Camp Fund has limited funds available for partial assistance with the cost. Participation in these fundraisers, or partial payment, is essential if financial help is needed. Financial Assistance may be requested in the office by October 6, 2018 and is confidential.

     

    There will be a Parent Information Night about Camp on September 27 at 6:00 pm. Please watch for more information.

     

    Finally, our PTA is a very active organization enriching the education for ALL of our Wildcat Community. Purchasing memberships, volunteering on committees or at school functions are just a few of the ways we need parents and grandparents to become involved. Please log onto our website lccpta.membershiptoolkit.com  and enter your email, a private password, and contact information into your account. This allows you to be kept up to date on all of the important LCC functions and opportunities, as well as purchasing merchandise, Memberships and tickets to events such as our Color Run and Dodgeball Tournament, just to name a few!

     

    Our Annual PTA Ice Cream Social will be held from 5:00-6:30 pm on Thursday, August 30 on the lunch quad. You and your family can come for free ice cream, camaraderie, and to meet more of our Wildcat Family!
