    What career did you aspire to when you were ten years old? In the Launchpad, students develop a common language around their interests while learning about careers in El Cajon and beyond they may otherwise have never heard of. The Launchpad redefines what career development looks, feels, and sounds like for all Cajon Valley students. Students leave the Launchpad on their own unique path to gainful employment.

    No matter what a student's journey looks like, managing finances plays a critical role. In this session, students will share about their experiences creating budgets and investing in the stock market.

    In this session, students will showcase the World of Work Launch Pad, A career development learning space. The Launchpad is a gateway to the World of Work for ALL students, parents and teachers.     "Beyond the Foundation - Uncovering my Career by cracking the Code"

    Room 103 | CholeAnne Dilgard | Grade 4

    Seamless integration of student strengths and career opprotunities with academic learning is essential to teaching the whole student. In this session, students will share career projects they have planned and created based on thier strengths and interests while part6icipating in a mystery unit. Within the unit, students participated in activities such as; reading mysteries, investigating the science of forensics, and cracking various codes, while tying everything together with the RIASEC and career exploration

    "Kid Business Ventures turn a profit Elementary School"

    Room 204 | Lori Knierim | Grade 5

    In this session you will meet kid entrepreneurs who have learned and put into practice a project from a business plan to product sales. In a partnership with Edcorps, students demonstrate knowledge of the entire business model. All the kid businesses donate their profits to charities of their choice after the selling event. This year's selling event was reimagined to a drive through market. Watch Kid Business Video Here


    "Sparking Joy in our Community"

    Room 202 | Jeannette Monroy | Kindergarten

    This PBL project integrates math, writing, reading, science, coding, videography, RIASEC and presentation skills in both Spanish & English. Our student expert groups will explain how they built upon their project each trimester, what the experience was like, and showcase their learning. Students created bookmarks for their 2nd grade reading buddies and learned about the drafting process. Students also made birdhouses to hang around the school. They created blueprints and collaborated on the design. They also came up with the idea to make and decorate planters and include a special plant to give to the elderly. Students combined their interests and collaborated to create the driving question.


    "Deep Dive into my Career Dreams"

    Room 205 | Stacey Isom & Laura Stabile | Grade 6-7

    With our visiting guests, students will showcase and discuss not only their RIASEC results but also their professional interests far beyond the personal theme/codes connected to their RIASEC. Students will discuss their personal strengths, specific research findings, and finally a 3-D rendereing of their own self designed workplace. The idea of professional possibilities will be the focus in sharing what each student imagined, will be showcased in all that was created.


    "Even if I can't read, I can control my emotions"

    Room 207 | Cassidy Lentz | Transitional Kindergarten - Kindergarten

    Students in Transitional Kinderarten and Kindergarten share how they use the Social Emotinal tools they have learned about to control their emotions. Even the littlest of us can make positive choices. Student will share the Zones of Regulation with guests and explain how it helps them understand their emotions and regulate their behavior each day. They will be able to define their role in their own behavior and emotions, and how that can affect the behavior and emotions of those around them.
