Welcome to kindergarten!
This will be a busy and exciting year, and I’m looking forward to working with you and your child. Your child will be learning many things this year, including how to read, how to write, and many math concepts. They will also grow socially and emotionally as they make new friends and learn about cooperation and working together.
To be ready to learn, your child needs a good night’s sleep and something to eat before coming to class. The most important thing you can do at home to help your child is to talk with them every day about what’s happening at school. Check your child’s backpack and folder every day and ask your child about the work they’ve brought home. Ask what letter we’re learning, what story we read, or about the friends your child played with that day. Talking with your child about their day at school helps them remember what we’re learning, and shows them that what they do in class is important to you. Your support and encouragement are vital to your child’s success at school, so be sure to celebrate their effort!
I'm looking forward to a wonderful year!
